THE Jesuits Center for Theological Reflection (JCTR) has urged consumers and companies to stop hoarding dollars as this is contributing much to the depreciation of the kwacha.
Executive Director Father Leonard Chiti observed that a number of consumers and companies were hoarding dollars.
He said the kwacha had been fluctuating against the United States (US) dollars and had caused the cost of living in Zambia to escalate.
Father Chiti was speaking during the Business review programme on Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) television on Wednesday this week.
He urged consumers and companies to ensure that they take the dollars to the bank as this would help support the local economy
He implored consumers to consider buying locally produced goods so that the country cut on imports which demands dollars.
