CHIPOLOPOLO striker Winston Kalengo took home three club awards on Friday night during Zesco United end-of-year awards dinner held at Mukuba Hotel in Ndola.
As expected, Kalengo took home the top scorer award after his 18 league goals that helped propel Zesco to its fifth FAZ Super League title this season.
Kalengo also walked away with the Best Player award for a second successive season and also won The Players-Player accolade.
“I am very humbled. A person like me has no strength of my own. I look up to God for my abilities,” Kalengo said after receiving his awards.
Other recipients on the night were Kenya international defender David Owino, who won the Most Disciplined Player award, while midfielder Cletus Chota took home the Most Valuable Player award.
Midfielder Mwape Mwelwa received the Chairman’s award while the Most Consistent Player award went to goalkeeper Jacob Banda.
Meanwhile, Zesco Limited acting managing director Laston Mumba said they were hoping to see more success in the 2016 season from the five-time champions.
“As your main sponsors we would like to encourage you to even redouble your efforts to prepare adequately for the 2016 Super Division and qualify for the lucrative CAF Champion’s League Group stage. We wish to implore you to work even harder so as to grab all silverware in the 2016,” Mumba said.
