FUCHSIA is a colour which is not so common among brides and grooms. It is a colour liked and worn by many ladies, and Church choirs usually use this colour combined with a black skirt or trouser.
It comes manly in chiffon because of the way it looks. It is a popular colour given a wrong name, commonly called deep pink. It is in the family of pink but it is not deep pink. It is a palette colour suitable for wedding and believe you me it looks beautiful.
Fuchsia colour is a blend of deep pink and blue. Sounds strange but it’s the fact. It can be combined with others colours, turquoise, red and any other colour you like, remember less is more.
Fuchsia as a wedding colour inspires confidence and assurance.
Mwamba Simbao Choongo Kabezia tied the knot on 8th November 2015, at government complex after a garden service at Doroles Gardens in Lilayi area in Lusaka.
The couple choose fuchsia colour theme, they incorporated it with silver, yellow and white.
Fuchsia and yellow is an amazing vibrant palette that is suitable not only for tropical and destination wedding but also for those who just love bright colours and accents. It is also suitable for garden wedding reason being that they happen mostly in summer.
These two colours combine very well and you need not use them too much, just some accents and décor pieces, a table setting flowers, cards, favor and your cake. These combination always raise the mood of the guests and your wedding will be exciting.
Mwamba and Choongo gave each ceremony a specific colour for order and leaving the guests with a desire for wanting more. Yellow had a higher percentage at the garden service where they shared their vows, it was a cheerful moment. The main colour theme being fuchsia was at the reception venue as it was indoors. The decorator added pink to fuchsia will understand why as we go on.
Pink was used for table clothes, serviettes and chair tie bands. White is always a common denominator and it was used for seat covers, serviettes and the backdrop. Candle stand, champagne was used as a centerpiece.
The bridesmaids wore yellow dresses for the garden service, looked glamorous fit for the occasion and can also be worn for dinner and any red carpet event. For the reception they wore fuchsia danceable dresses and gold pumps.
The bride looked beautiful, a gown that fitted her like a glove and can be worn for dinner by just removing the tail and you are ready to go.
The groomsmen and groom it was all black suits, white shirts and black bow tie.
The colour theme Mwamba and Chongo choose is innocent, does not like to be bothered because it will not bother you. When red roses are added to the décor it brings out the boldness and adds some dramatic feel to the reception venue. It is in the family of pink, so they are present to say it with style.
For a fuchsia theme, pink is also added but a very small percentage. Pink is the colour of the sweet young girl before life’s experiences take over. This colour reminds us of early childhood memories assorted with nurturing and comfort from your mother or a mother figure. It calms our emotional energies. It lacks any aggression or anger, although the deeper pink can be more assertive and confident.
It is a non –threatening colour seeking appreciation, respect and admiration. It doesn’t like to be taken for granted and just loves to hear the words thank you and offers warmth and tenderness to friends and family.
The colour pink on the wedding day puts people in touch with the nurturing side of themselves through either the need to receive or the need to give and tender loving care. This colour family signify good health and success as in everything is rosy. It also represents the sweetness and innocence of the child in all of us.
It is the colour of uncomplicated emotions, inexpensive and naiveté. A constant and exclusive use of pink can often lead you to become immature, silly and girlish, abandoning your adult responsibilities.
Combining pink with other darker colours such as dark blue, dark green, black or grey adds strength and sophistication to it. Pink relates to both unconditional love, romantic love and inspires the possibility of a positive outcome.
A combination of red and white, pink contains the need for action of red helping it to achieve the potential for success and insight offered by white. It is the passion and power of red softened with the purity, openness and completeness of white. The deeper the pink, the more passion and energy it exhibits.
Pink is feminine and romantic, affectionate and intimate, thoughtful and caring. It tones down the physical passion of red replacing it with a gentle loving energy, this colour is intuitive and insightful showing tenderness and kindness with its empathy and sensitivity.
In colour psychology pink is a sign of hope. It is a positive colour inspiring warm and comforting feelings you sense that everything will be okay.
Remember this whenever you use pink as a colour theme that it calms and reassures our emotional energies, alleviating feelings of anger, aggression, resentment, abandonment and neglect. Studies have confirmed that exposure of large amounts of pink can have a calming effect on the nerves and create physical weakness in people.
Violent and aggressive prisoners have been successfully calmed by placing them in a pink room for a specified amount of time. Exposure for too long can have the opposite effect.
The bridesmaids wore yellow elegant dresses suitable for all body types and makes one look taller. The colour of the dresses works well with the colour theme. Yellow is a colour which creates warm, welcoming, cheerful and happy mood which will lift up the spirits of your guests.
It symbolizes wisdom, happiness and intellectual energy. Yellow is also a very imaginative colour and chosen by those seeking self-fulfillment and adventure. People with good senses of humor often tend towards yellow and other personality traits, yellow can represent curiosity, awareness and those who are driven and focused.
The bride and groom choose a touch of yellow as part of their colour theme reason being that they are creative with many original ideas and thoughts but with much practicality. This is not the colour of the fantasy dreamer but the practical idealist.
Silver created a mood of elegance, a sleek, glamorous, modern and rich colour. Silver can also create a soothing and calm effect. It also aids speech and public speaking and enhances patience and perseverance. It symbolizes responsibilities and organization and can signify nature, earth and a distinguished character.
As silver illuminates and reflects the energy of those colours that surround it, choose carefully the colours you put with it for your wedding, the good about it, almost any colour will work with silver but be sure to choose a colour that has the energy you want to convey while there are similarities between silver and gray. Silver is much more light- hearted and optimistic.
With a fuchsia colour theme you will never go wrong. This colour represents compassion, it relates to unconditional love and understanding the giving and receiving of nurturing. Feel free to go fuchsia as we end the year.
Congratulations Mwamba and Choongo.
Keep the nuptials memorable.
