NCHANGA Rangers are relieved to have survived demotion but have admitted 2016 will come with its own challenges.
Financially beleaguered Rangers finished the season on a disappointing note when they lost 2-0 away to Nkana on Wednesday to end the 2015 campaign fourth from bottom in 13th place.
Assistant coach Evans Sakala said in a post-match interview at Nkana Stadium that the club faces a major challenge to hold on to key players during the off-season.
“We have got young and upcoming players but due to circumstances at the club some of the players won’t stay with us and some will go and look for greener pastures but we have to look for new player to come and join us,” Sakala said.
Sakala said the club was working very hard to find a solution before the kickoff of the 2016 campaign.
Meanwhile, Nkana coach Aggrey Chiyangi said an eighth place finish was a favourable finish for the club.
“We are happy that the team has stabilized because now we are sure that the team can win and defend well and then good results can come,” Chiyago said.
“If we can start very well next season and all the stakeholders do their part positively then we will do better next year.”
Nkana’s finished eighth this season after ending the 2014 campaign at number four.
