A MAN of Kabwe is nursing serious injuries after a suspected commercial sex worker used a broken bottle to inflict cuts on his manhood following his alleged failure to pay for services while at a named lodge.
The man, who works for the Judiciary in Kabwe, was found bleeding profusely in a room by lodge workers who heard him crying in agony.
Central Province Police Chief Lombe Kamukoshi and sources at the lodge confirmed the incident which happened on Monday this week.
Ms Kamukoshi, who could not give more details, said police were investigating to establish what could have angered the woman.
It was believed that the two had a misunderstanding after spending a ‘good’ time together before the woman got a bottle and stabbed the man several times on his private parts.
The employees at the lodge said they found the two in the room after rushing to have a glimpse of what was pertaining.
“When we arrived there, we found that there was blood on the floor.
The woman attempted to run away, but was quickly apprehended by police officers who arrived at the scene on time,” he said.
Some sources said despite bleeding heavily, the man refused to be taken to hospital on claims that he had no money.
He also pleaded with the police officers not to arrest the woman who was still in the room.
The woman was, however, apprehended and detained at Kasanda Police Station before being released on Wednesday after the victim insisted that she should be released.
Meanwhile, six students at Mkumbi College in Mkushi were briefly detained after they protested over lack of lecturers at the institution.
In a related development, police in Ndola arrested an eight-year-old boy for killing a 12-year-old boy after kicking him on his private parts.
Copperbelt Province deputy Police chief Byemba Musole said the 12-year-old boy was kicked after he tried to restrain the eight-year-old boy from beating the deceased’s young brother.
Mr Musole said the incident happened last weekend when the boys were playing football.
Mr  Musole said the 12-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death when he came to the aid of his five-year -old brother who was earlier attacked by the same boy.
He said the boy who died, was kicked by the eight-year-old boy in the abdomen.
“We have a report of murder involving two juveniles, an eight year old boy who kicked to death  a 12-year old boy who came to rescue his brother,” he said.
