INFORMATION and Broadcasting Services Minister Chishimba Kambwili has given Zambia Reports, an online publication, a 24-hour ultimatum to retract a story in which it is insinuating that he verbally abused University Teaching Hospital (UTH) staff in Lusaka.
Mr Kambwili, who is chief Government spokesperson, threatened to take legal action against the publication if the story was not retracted.
According to Mr Kambwili, the publication insinuated that he insulted UTH staff last Sunday when he took a patient seeking medical attention which was delayed.
He said this at a Press briefing at Parliament buildings in Lusaka yesterday.
“I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessional reporting by some media houses. Zambia Reports reported that I insulted UTH staff when I took a patient there on November 8.
“These allegations are false and I am giving them 24 hours in which to retract the story because I was nowhere near Lusaka on the said date and that story was concocted,” he said.
