BRIEFCASE has noted with concern that Mei Mei Zambia Limited, the firm engaged to manage the new complex in Ndola near Levy Mwanawasa Stadium has named it Dollar Hill instead of the known Dola Hill.
The wholesale city, shopping complex and amusement park under construction along the Ndola –Kitwe Dual carriage way, should bear the original Dola Hill name which is synonymous with the city.
The name Dola Hill has a significant history to the city and re-naming or mis-spelling it would completely confuse residents about its meaning.
Nightmare at Masala
DRIVING along Masala main market road in Ndola at any time is a nightmare, one cannot explain the traffic jam that chocks this drive way.
Dispite the passage being narrow at the main bus stop, mini bus and taxi drivers have no regard for other road users.
Is there a way traffic can be controlled on this stretch where cars drive everywhere from all directions honking in total confusion?
Clean up drainages
BRIEFCASE has observed that some contractors engaged in road construction in Ndola are heaping soil along drainages.
With the coming of rains, heaped soil is likely to fall back into the drainage and cause blockages.
Residents have however called on constractors to consider finding an alternative way of throwing the soil away from the drainages.
