GREEN Buffaloes retained the Midlands Netball Association (MINA) league title after beating bitter rivals Green Eagles 43-38 during the closing matches played at the weekend.
The Week 22 matches played at Zambia National Service (ZNS) sports grounds in Makeni, saw Buffaloes top the log on 59 points as Eagles finished second with 52 points.
Prison Leopards ended their campaign in third place after amassing 52 points following their narrowly 40-39 win over Nkwazi, on 50 points, followed by Napsa on 48 points who lost 51-48 to Lusaka City Council (LCC), on 39 points.
According to results released by MINA vice general secretary Lydia Nanyangwe, Red Arrows beat Paramilitary 42-32 to finish on 24 points, but three behind their opponents, as Kalingalinga Edusport picked up a walk-over win over Police College and the case was the same in Tapeza’s win over Mazabuka Queens.
Edusport and Mazabuka Queens are on 15 points, Tapeza on 12 points while Police College lost all their 22 matches to be without a point.
