By MAYA NTANDA –
GOVERNMENT has released over K2 million for the construction of 10 housing units in Lufwanyama district.
Lufwanyama District Commissioner Alex Kalela said Government intends to construct the housing units to cushion the shortage of accommodation for civil servants in the area.
Mr Kalela said the construction of the houses would start this year.
The DC said it was cardinal that civil servants working in the district were accommodated to avoid commuting from other towns on the Copperbelt.
He said in Lufwanyama yesterday that civil servants operating in the district should be accommodated within the area so that they could easily monitor developmental projects.
“About K2million has been released for the construction of 10 housing units for civil servants and apart from cushioning the housing
deficit, this will enhance development because projects will easily be monitored,” he said.
Mr Kalela said Government would continue implementing projects to improve the welfare of the people.
He urged Lufwanyama residents to continue supporting Government’s  efforts in providing infrastructure development in the country.
