SHEPOLOPOLO coach Albert Kachinga has described as fair the draws for the Cameroun 2016 African Women Championship.
Zambia will play Namibia in the first round of the tournament which will see the Shepolopolo play host on March 5 before travelling to Windhoek after a fortnight for the return leg.
Should Zambia overcome Namibia, then a date against either Tanzania or Zimbabwe awaits them in the second round. The final tournament will run from November 19 to December 3 in Yaoundé.
Kachinga, who when called for a comment yesterday sounded surprised that draws have been made, said he had nothing much to say than that the draws were fair.
“I really cannot say much about this because I did not watch the draws but all I can say is that they seem fair, otherwise I shall comment much on this later on,” he said.
Champions Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa are on bye in the first round.
Meanwhile, three players who missed the first days of training have joined the Under-23 national team preparing for the Senegal 2015 African Championship.
The Zesco United duo of Bernard Mapili and John Chingandu, and Nkana goalkeeper Charles Mweemba all reported for camp on Thursday evening and attended yesterday’s training session.
The Fighton Simukonda-coached side had a practice session against Lusaka Stars winning 3-0 with goals from Friday Samu and Felony Sitonya who scored a brace.
