ZESCO United defender Ayo Oluwafemi says he is honoured to have won his first MTN/FAZ Super League title.
The defender is in his first season with the five-time champions where he has reached a personal milestone as the first Nigerian player to win a league title in Zambia.
Oluwafemi, who joined Zesco in January from South African club University of Pretoria FC, said in an interview that he was looking forward to another fruitful 2016 season.
“First of all God was involved because we believe in divine power and we believe that working as a team really helped us. I think the experience of coach George (Lwandamina) really helped us a lot and our preparations for the season also did a big part,” he said.
Oluwafemi said the team was also looking forward to a better outing in the 2016 CAF Champions League after tumbling in the first round in this year’s tournament.
