THE three Chinese who were last week brutally murdered by bandits in Kitwe’s Ganertone area, have been cremated at Chingola Road Cemetery.
The trio Wang Going, Yu Xiao Bin and Wang Hui of the same family, were murdered by criminals who broke into Golden King investments factory and into their residence, and went away with an undisclosed amount of money from the safe.
Three other Chinese who were injured in the incident which happened last week, were still hospitalised.
First Lady Esther Lungu and Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Yang Youming were among the people that attended the cremation ceremony in Kitwe yesterday.
Ms Lungu described the death of the three as regrettable.
“The manner in which the three were killed is deeply regrettable, we send our condolences and may the family be comforted and it is our prayer that the departed ones rest in peace,” she said
She, however, said the death of the trio, should not change the relationship that existed between Zambians and their Chinese counterparts.
Ms Lungu advised Zambians to co-exit with their Chinese colleagues and appreciate the investment that had been put in place.
Mr Yang said the death of the three was shocking.
He said police should bring the culprits to book so that justice could prevail.
Kitwe District Commissioner Chanda Kabwe said a total of three people had been arrested in connection with the death of the Chinese.
