THE Ministry of General Education has cautioned school leavers against engaging in any form of misconduct upon completion of their Grade 12 final examinations.
Spokesperson Hilary Chipango said in a statement yesterday that school leavers who would be caught disrupting public peace and destroying property after examinations will face the wrath of the law.
“The Ministry of General Education would like to express its disappointment with the reported misconduct of some school leavers across the country after writing their Grade 12 final examinations.
“The Ministry would like to take this opportunity to send a strong warning that, such school leavers will be visited by the long arm of the law if they destroyed public property and disrupted public peace,” he said.
Mr Chipango advised school leavers to exercise restraint from indulging in illicit activities that may land them into problems and ultimately destroy their future.
He said school administrators, parents and guardians should advise pupils to avoid the grievous acts as Grade 12 examinations were only a step in the beginning of a long life journey.
Owing to reports of misconduct among some Grade 12 candidates this year, Police have banned the hosting of annual school leavers’ parties to ensure the safety of people and property.
