STARSAT has partnered with StarTimes Group of China to provide affordable digital television services for majority Zambians on the market.
StarTimes is a pay television company operating all over Africa and seeks to deliver top quality choices to many people at an affordable price.
Zambia becomes the 29th country in Africa where this service has been rolled out.
StarSat chairperson John Kalenga said the company was widely represented by its distributors and that its plan was to grow this distributor network so as to contribute to empowering Zambians and create wealth for the country.
“We are therefore challenging young entrepreneurial Zambians to take up this opportunity and help us empower the majority Zambians,” Mr Kalenga said.
This is contained in a press release issued by StarSat and made available to the Times in Lusaka yesterday.
Mr Kalenga said that StarTimes was committed to realising a vision and strategy of affordable and excellent content.
“We will consistently build on the services as outlined as we respond to the specific needs of our subscribers,” Mr Kalenga said.
He said StarTime would stimulate the television market to even greater levels of informative, educational, and entertaining programming.
Mr Kalenga expressed hope that this would stimulate stronger and healthy competition among the players in the television industry in Zambia.
Mr Kalenga also said he was confident that StarTimes would soon be the people’s choice service provider for their digital television entertainment.
He said with almost 100 channels to choose from, subscribers could look forward to a very wide and enriching variety of content in news, movies, sports, entertainment, music and documentaries, all at very affordable prices.
Mr Kalenga said StarSat had done extensive research in arriving at the choice of their bouquets as well as their pricing and content.
