Livingstone woman found decomposed

THE body of Marina Nyendwa, the 28-year-old woman who drowned in the Zambezi River in Livingstone at the weekend has been found in a decomposed state.
A combined team of Zambia Wildlife Authroity (ZAWA) and the Livingstone Fire Brigade officers discovered Ms Nywendwa’s body on the banks of the Zambezi River.
She drowned on Saturday as she was swimming with friends at an area located more than a Kilometre from ZAWA’s Dry Manzi Recreation Centre.
ZAWA senior Wildlife warden for the Southern region Lusizi Mwale confirmed that the body was found on the banks of Zambezi River in a decomposed state with inside body parts missing.
“We have found the body for Nyendwa who drowned on Saturday, the body was found in a decomposed state and inner parts removed,” she said.
ZAWA urges members of the public to follow park rules when they visit the national park for their own safety as everyone must care about their own safety.
The Authority has since sent their deepest condolences following Nyendwa’s death and that the family remained strong during the trying moment.
The brother of the deceased Prince Nyendwa who was present when the body was found sighed with relief that Marina’s body had been found but still in state of grief and disbelief.
Meanwhile a body of a man believed to be a Zimbabwean truck driver, was found naked inside his truck in Livingstone.
He was found with teeth marks believed to have been inflicted by his assailant.
Southern Province deputy Commissioner, Bonnie Kapeso identified the deceased as Titus Fungai, a driver working for a South African based company.
He was found dead on  Sunday morning this week.
Mr Kapeso said the deceased, was on board a truck registration number KZP 239 GP and trailer numbers HCY 772 NW and HCZ 233 NW.
Police suspect foul play and investigations had since been instituted
Mr Kapeso said the deceased’s next of kin had been informed while the body was currently in the Batoka Hospital mortuary.
