Muvi-TV reporter Agness Jere dies

A NDOLA based MUVI-TV journalist has died after she was yesterday hit by a speeding vehicle.
Both Copperbelt Police chief Joyce Kasosa and Muvi TV Northern region sales and marketing manager Donald Bulangeti confirmed the death of Agness Jere in Ndola yesterday.
Ms Kasosa said Ms Jere met her fate in Lubuto Township when a speeding Toyota Sprinter registration number ABF 94 lost control and hit her while awaiting transport to report for work.
She said Ms Jere 28, who died upon arrival at Ndola Central Hospital (NCH) sustained a deep cut on her head and was bleeding through the nose.
Ms Kasosa identified the driver as David Mwambazi 32, of 4821 also of Lubuto, who had since been apprehended.
“We received a report on the accident which happened in the morning, involving a motorist and a female pedestrian, Agness Jere, a Muvi –TV reporter who was hit by a speeding vehicle,” she said.
Mr Bulangeti described Ms Jere’s demise as shocking and a loss to the media institution.
“Ms Jere’s death is a huge blow to our institution. She was hard working and always did her assignments on time. It will be very difficult to replace her,” he said.
Her body was currently at the NCH mortuary.
