Kalengo winstonBy SANDRA MWILA –

CHIPOLOPOLO striker Winston Kalengo has warned his team mates against complacency and underrating Mozambique when the two sides clash in the Rwanda 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) final round return leg qualifier on Sunday.
The in-form striker said in an interview after the afternoon training session yesterday at the Independence Stadium in Lusaka that, the team needs to forget about the 3-0 first leg win and work hard to qualify to the CHAN finals.
Kalengo scored the opening goal as Zambia picked up a healthy win over Mozambique to put one foot into the final. Spencer Sautu and wonder kid Conlyde Luchanga scored the other two goals.
“I can say we are almost there but all we need is to forget the 3-0 victory and not to be complacent against Mozambique because they are a good side. The team has continued to work hard in training and everyone is positive of Zambia making an appearance at the CHAN tournament after a long time,” he said.
Kalengo, who plays for Zesco United, anticipates a tough game against the Mambas but remained positive that the team will pull through and qualify to the CHAN finals.
“We might have scored three goals but that doesn’t give as a guarantee of qualifying to the CHAN tournament, we have to work hard because Mozambique is a tough team,” Kalengo said.
Chipolopolo captain Rainford Kalaba said in a separate interview that he was confident the locally based team will go on and beat Mozambique to book a place at the 2016 CHAN finals.
Kalaba, however, urged the team not to be content with the 3-0 victory picked against the Mambas in the first leg played last Saturday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
He said the players should work even harder to ensure that they win the decisive match in Maputo. Kalaba said it was good that the team scored a good number of goals which will give them an upper hand in the return leg.
“I don’t see Mozambique beating us in the return leg, the Chipolopolo can win the return match and qualify to the CHAN tournament. The job is not yet done and all they just have to do is to work hard and avoid complacency and put in a spirited fight like they did at Levy,” he said.
Kalaba, who watched the game at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium last weekend, further congratulated the players and technical bench for  the sweet victory.
