ACC 300x174By ADRIAN MWANZA –

THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has participated in the current countrywide teacher recruitment exercise in four districts.
The ACC’s corruption vulnerability assessments in the teacher recruitment showed that the main setback was the unavailability of application forms in some cases, which could create opportunities for corruption.
ACC public relations officer Timothy Moono said ACC participated in the exercise in Mazabuka, Kafue, Chongwe and Chilanga districts.
Mr Moono said the purpose of the commission’s presence was to witness how the process was being conducted to ensure there was adherence to the set guidelines.
He said the commission’s area of interest was the process of issuance of application forms to applicants as well as the receipt of filled-in applications.
Mr Moono said the process was still ongoing and the commission continued to be part of the exercise.
