PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has accorded an official funeral to former secretary to the Cabinet Joshua Kanganja who died on Thursday at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
Secretary to the Cabinet Rowland Msiska said in a statement last evening that Dr Kanganja would be buried in Lusaka on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Leopards Hill Memorial Park.
The funeral gathering is being held at his farm in kabangwe area off the Great North Road near St Eugene DHI University while church service would be held at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
Dr Kanganja served in five governments under first Republican president Kenneth Kaunda, late Frederick Chiluba, the late Levy Mwanawasa, Rupiah Banda and the late Michael Sata.
He was a law graduate from the University of Zambia, who served in various portfolios, including the following: Lecturer in the School of Law at UNZA, Dean of the School of Law at UNZA, Permanent Secretary Party Control Commission under UNIP, Legal Affairs Permanent Secretary, principal at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Permanent Secretary and chairperson of the Public Service Management Division.
His final position was that of secretary to the Cabinet in 2011, when he retired. He died at the age of 67.
