AFRISPORT chief executive officer (CEO) Gabriel Kaunda says the expanded FAZ Division One League will provide a platform to expose more young players to high-level football.
Kaunda, who manages the promotional chasing FAZ Division Two side, said the current structure had not provided enough space for young and upcoming players to thrive.
He said in an interview that the restructured league would bring rewards unlike the current league that has more players in the twilight of their careers and expressed happiness that his team had a deliberate policy of promoting youths.
Kaunda said the increased number of teams would benefit young players more and further called on clubs to start giving the upcoming players the chance to thrive.
Afrisports has had one of the most successful youth football development programmes over the last few years that saw the club develop players, among others, the current Chipolopolo captain Rainford Kalaba, striker Jacob Mulenga and defenders Stopilla Sunzu and Emmanuel Mbola, among others.
