THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) will next year hold elections to re-place great Kalu as FAZ president. The position of FAZ president has over the years failed to attract the right caliber of people who are cognisant with the needs of the local game. Kalusha Bwalya is one of the recent examples of some of the chief bearers who did not fail to stand the test of time at the helm.
Despite the high expectations and popularity he enjoyed which came from affiliates, great Kalu never enjoyed or got overwhelming support from certain quaters until FIFA intervened. The embattled Kalusha Bwalya executive is up to now not in good books with some FAZ affiliates.
However, president Kalusha has proved that his ascendency to presidency was worthwhile and did not disappoint those who had shown confidence in his abilities. Kalusha Bwalya has won many hearts of people in the sporting fraternity and was able to provide leadership, stewardship and vision.
When the Kalusha Bwalya led executive goes, who will be seen as the right man/woman to lead Zambian football to the ‘Promised Land’ and understands our ‘needs’? Who else has the same attributes in a similar position as being FAZ president?
Zambian fans/supporters are looking for a candidate able to manage the game of football. We want a FAZ president treating football as his passion or a calling. We want a person who enters the FAZ office with full convictions, loves the beautiful game of football and football must be in his/her veins.
I say this because we are interested in a leader who has been involved in football at different levels. Supporters are looking for a person who knows football politics and one who can easily be given full support by his superiors. Delegates to the general conference in Kabwe should go and vote for a man or woman who understands both the administrative and technical aspects of the game. He or she must be a workaholic whom we believe will benefit our game in the next coming years.
Zambian fans are this time looking for a best technical and best administrator with a very strong character and humble education. Furthermore, the incoming executive must be abreast with what needs to be improved in Zambian football. As fans/writers, we are expecting a lot from the winner and we will give him or her our support by taking Chipolopolo to the finishing line.
The FAZ presidency is not a position for people who fail to generate a solid team of planners and strategists. We do not want voodoo planners. Football is now scientific.

Zambians must not lose heart
In life, the beginning of any meaningful change or transformation is acceptance. When you fall, accept that you have fallen. But refuse to stay there, rise up. When you fail, it doesn’t mean you don’t know or you’ll never know. You are designed to overcome, try again and you ‘ll succeed. Just never give up.
In Zambia today, things are not good, the economy, living standards, political and spiritual atmosphere are not encouraging at all. But don’t lose heart. Zambians must not give up. Every problem has a grain of it’s own solution. No problem is insurmountable. For once, let’s not point fingers at each other or run away from the fact that things are not okay. I believe every crisis has a potential to turn out for good when handled with firmness, faith and the realism it deserves.
We must begin to treasure moments when we as a nation can have a moment under difficulty situations like we are in today, to come together and seek God together. God says in his word that those who diligently seek him will find him. Please brethren, let’s not discourage others through texts, emails or whatever medium you may use so that the purpose of prayer on the 18th is defeated. The devil thrives on confusion and division. Let’s stand as one-together, we will overcome!

Prayer path
On its journey, steady and cautious,
For no one, time shall wait,
In its quest, anxious,
To swallow them, small, wide and stout.
With anointment, that path shines,
In silence, a huge crowd, enjoy the texture,
In the eye, beyond creed and ethnic lines,
Wise words, humble in nature,
Even against the storm,
Regardless of one’s culture,
Wisdom shall forever be wisdom.
In numbers small and isolated,
Yes! They will grumble,
At that declaration, firm and supported,
As their voice in suffocation, en-route to its crumble.
High up the sky, a fist clenched,
For now and beyond, his story,
To their skin, drenched,
In the annals of history,
A breed of the prayer path.
