Zambia wins Safari 7s Shield

ZAMBIA on Sunday lifted the Shield at the Safari Sevens Rugby Championship in Kenya after beating Uganda 14-10 in a tight final at Safaricom Stadium.
After dropping out of the main competition, Zambia got some solace by overpowering the Ugandans and bring home some silverware from the event won by Samurai International.
In the Shield semi-finals, Zambia beat Italy 14- 5 Zambia while Uganda embarrassed Burundi 55-0.
Zambia kicked off the Safari Sevens campaign after losing three straight games in Pool B.
Newcomers England Saxons beat Zambia 36-14 and then tumbled 7-41 to Spain before being mauled 0-38 by Brazil.
Zambia was then relegated to the Bowl event where Kenya’s Morans ran out 31-0 winners in the quarter-finals.
Samurai International edged Kenya’s Shujaa 20-19 to be crowned 2015 Safari Sevens champions while Morans won the Bowl competition after beating Portugal 26-12.
