Ndola-Central-HospitalBy MUNAMBEZA MUWANEI –

THE Ndola Central Hospital (NCH) has increased high-cost medical scheme fees with effect from October 1, 2015 by more than 100 per cent for some of the services.
The increased fees are for ambulance service during the day from K225 to K600, with ambulance service at night rising from K335 to K700 and admission to K550 from K450.
General consultation fee has been increased from K60 to K100, while nursing care has been increased from K50 to K100.
According to a circular obtained by the Times of Zambia in Ndola and signed by NCH senior nmedical superintendent Dande Malawo, the revision had been necessitated by the increase in the running costs and management’s desire to continue delivering quality services to its clients.
“The hospital management wishes to advise our esteemed clients on high cost medical scheme that with effect from 1st October 2015, all the service charges will be revised upwards,” read the circular.
The circular stated that drugs had been revised at 33 per cent as Government policy on pharmaceutical products.
Last week the Zambia Police Service revised fees on fines and other traffic offences.
