MIDFIELDER Chisamba Lungu signed off with a goal in Ural FC 1-all draw against Krylya Sovetov Samara in the Russian League ahead of joining the Chipolopolo for the October 11 international friendly match against Egypt.
The Ural FC skipper was initially left out of the six foreign-based players’ list released by coach ‘Chicken’ George Lwandamina, who wants to use the match to prepare for the upcoming Chipolopolo fixtures.
Zambia faces Mozambique in the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) final round qualifier first leg on October 17 before visiting Maputo for the return leg on October 24 with the winner qualifying to the finals.
The Chipolopolo will then face Sudan in the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier with the ties set for November 9 and 17 with the winner sailing through to the third round of qualifiers.
Chisamba, whose goal saw his side move to sixth position on 16 points, will be part of the seven foreign-based players that will join the local legion ahead of the Egypt match to be played this month.
He gave Ural FC the lead in the 26th minute off a Gerson Acevedo assist while Ibrahim Tsallahov equalised for the visitors in the 44th minute.
Other foreign-based players called for the friendly are Kennedy Mweene, Rainford Kalaba, Stopilla Sunzu, Lubambo Musonda, Nathan Sinkala and Collins Mbesuma.
Sunzu had a good game playing 90 minutes in LOSC Lille 2-0 home win over Montpellier in the French Ligue 1 on Friday night as coach Herve Renard’s side recorded its second win of the season to move into 11th position with 10 points.
Meanwhile, the Chipolopolo squad comprising locally-based players regroups today in preparation for the Egypt friendly and CHAN qualifier against Mozambique.
