THE Government has implored teachers and parents to inculcate good morals in children for the development of the country.
Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Chishimba Kambwili said it was cardinal to inculcate good morals in pupils to have a better nation.
Mr Kambwili said this in a speech read for him by Wusakile councillor Davis Simunyola during Wusakile Secondary School ground-breaking and awards giving ceremony in Kitwe yesterday.
He said the school had never had a hall from the time it was constructed in 1943 and it was gratifying to see an initiative of the parents and teachers supplementing Government efforts in infrastructure development.
“It is gratifying to see the initiative of the parents supplementing Government efforts in uplifting the education standards. Please keep soldiering on, do not be complacent because success is a journey and always remember to inculcate good morals in our pupils,” he said.
Mr Kambwili said the Patriotic Front (PF) Government placed infrastructure development as a top priority on its agenda.
District Education Standards Officer (DESO) Frederick Chishimba said Wusakile Secondary School had transformed from the dilapidated structure it was in, in the past to a modern facility.
Mr Chishimba said the new school hall would have an ultramodern facility.
He commended the school management for working tirelessly and raising the teachers’ morale by creating a conducive environment.
