MUNA Singh Jnr says he is optimistic of winning his first national rally championship in the remaining two legs of the 2015 season.
He said in an interview yesterday that his chances of winning the national title were high despite falling out of the Meanwood Rally in Monze at the weekend.
Muna said his threat to winning the national title was posed by his brother, Jassy if he returned after crashing his car at the Uganda Rally.
Currently, Muna lies second on the log with 96 points behind Jassy on 100 points.
It is yet to be known if Jassy will be able to race in the remaining two rounds.
“My chances of winning the national championship are still very high in the remaining two rounds. My only threat is my brother Jassy but at the moment we don’t know exactly when he will reappear on the scene because his car was badly damaged,” he said.
Muna said if Jassy returned, his presence would add more competition to the national rally but would be ready for the challenge.
He said he would be looking forward to win his first-ever national championship but had always been blocked by the Class A driver Jassy, Mohammad Essa, Miles Monge and Forook Ticklay.
Vyon Pinto won the Meanwood Rally controversially after outclassing other competitors.
Clerk of the course Paul Monge had disqualified Pinto for using a wrong route but the stewards reinstated him back in the race after he paid a fine.
