The evolution theory must be expelled from every Zambian school because it has proved to be scientifically questionable and at the same time a tool for the repression of the black race.
Charles Darwin presented his theory of evolution by natural selection in his 1859 book On the Origin of Species which draw from decades of scientific probe into evolution ideas going back through the ages.
The theory said in various species, only some of the offspring could possibly survive; and for this reason, in generations to come, offspring better adapted to survive and reproduce would replace those that could not survive.
Such ‘replacement’ he called ‘natural selection.’ The theory also said individuals or organisms existed with different form and structure, different physical qualities and different behaviour. Such diverse traits determined different rates of survival and reproduction; and such traits could be passed from generation to generation.
The process of natural selection creates and preserves those traits or attributes that fit the roles the individuals perform. This aspect has played havoc on political, economic and socio-cultural relations across races in history as slave trade and colonial rule emerged from the belief that certain races through evolutionism became either superior or inferior to others.
Evolutionism was a common 19th century belief that organisms improve themselves from within, through change that has been inherited over time, and such organisms become increasingly complex as they evolve. Today, the belief has spawned ideas such as cultural evolution, social evolution, political evolution, economic evolution, technological evolution and others which attempt to explain human development.
Darwin’s attitudes to matters of faith and life form an important background to his position on the biblical account of creation. Creation.com have published a few notes from The Autobiography of Charles Darwin, published in 1958. He fully believed that the mind of man has been developed “from a mind as low as that possessed by the lowest animal.”
In plain language, evolution places man at the same level as the lowest animals on the earth, contrary to the supreme, predominant position of rule that God gave human beings in Genesis. Note that in the evolution theory, certain races have evolved faster than others, as we shall later see.
Evolution is also described as the progressive change in the inherited qualities of biological populations over succeeding generations. In this line of thought, evolution is seen to cause diverse kinds of existence and organisation at all biological levels over time. In the evolutionary process, there is a repeated formation of new species, changes within species and extinction of species which it is held has been the case throughout the history of life on earth.
Such changes, in the evolution theory, fall under the terms ‘mutation’ and ‘genetic drift.’
Proof of this, according to the theory, is that certain DNA sequences are shared across species, certain forms and structures of species are also shared and biochemical settings are also common across certain species. Such proof has been provided through the study of existing species and fossils.
The evolution theory has been praised as a cornerstone of modern science, backed by evidence from various branches of scientific study. It has been acknowledged as key to the comprehension and development of medicine, agriculture, industry, spirituality, computer sciences and life sciences.
However, from within scientific circles, Darwin’s idea (orthogenesis) that in species, life evolves and transforms by reason of some internal or external driving force has been rejected. Some scientists have rejected the natural selection concept as the main factor in the process of evolution. Broadly, however, scientists accept the idea that humans are evolving and improving either due to an inner perfecting principle or due to a general natural trend.
But the evolution story has its problems. Dr Duane T. Gish, writing in Impact in November 1975, reported that ape-like creatures like Australopithecus (Southern Ape) and Zinjanthropus Bosei (East Africa Man) were initially thought to form a vital link in the evolutionary chain between apes and man. But after scientific examination, they were found to fall outside this chain and did not walk upright.
ORIGINS
Evolution claims that all life on earth has one origin or last universal ancestor, which lived about 3.8 billion years ago. It is also held that more than 99 per cent of all species that once existed on earth are now extinct while 10 to 14 million species currently exist. Evolution has also been thought to explain the origins of all things in the universe — but scientists are disputing this.
In his 2009 article The Big Bang, Multiverse, and Other Tales about Outer Space, Dr Danny Faulkner, who then was professor of Astronomy/Physics at the University of South Carolina, Lancaster, has argued that most of astronomy deals with the structure of the universe as it now exists. “However, the various attempts by astronomers to expel the Creator from the cosmos are simply untenable.”
His observation is that for four decades, the dominant cosmological theory has been the Big Bang, the belief that the universe abruptly appeared 13.7 billion years ago in a very dense, hot state, and has been expanding ever since.
“Interestingly, some Christians see a need for the Creator to initiate the Big Bang, and hence use the Big Bang as an apologetic, but this ignores at least two important points. One is that the Big Bang does not conform to the Genesis account of creation, differing in many details such as the order of events. The other point is that cosmologists of late have developed ideas of how the universe could have come about on its own, such as a quantum fluctuation or as a part of a multiverse or the latest event in an eternal cyclic universe. As with any evolutionary theory, these are attempts to explain the world apart from a Creator.”
According to the Big Bang model, the universe began as a very hot gas consisting entirely of hydrogen and helium with just a small amount of lithium. As the universe expanded, it cooled and eventually stars and galaxies began to form.
“Astronomers are not sure how this commenced, but since we see huge numbers of stars and galaxies today, they reason that this must have happened. The most popular theory of galaxy formation is that the early universe had slightly more dense and less dense regions. The more dense regions had more gravity and thus acted as gravitational seeds to collect more gas.”
Dr Faulkner notes that these massive, large gas clouds eventually contracted into the galaxies that we see today. “Of course, scientists cannot actually observe this. Within galaxies, stars formed from clouds of gas. However, there is some debate today whether galaxies formed first and then subdivided into stars, or if stars formed first and then amalgamated into galaxies.”
While most matter in the universe still mostly consists of hydrogen and helium, a percentage of the universe’s mass is in the heavier elements, such as the carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, calcium and iron that exist in abundance on the earth and in the human body. “Where did these heavier elements come from? Astronomers think that stars generally produce energy in their cores by the fusion of hydrogen into helium, and there is some evidence to support this theory.”
A large gas cloud, now with a small per cent of matter consisting of elements heavier than helium, collapsed, though it is not clear exactly what initiated that collapse. Most of the matter supposedly fell to the centre to form the sun.
The remaining small portion of the matter collapsed into a disk, from which the planets, satellites, asteroids, and comets eventually formed.
Most astronomers believe that the solar system formed about nine billion years after the Big Bang, Dr Faulkner states, adding that the biblical age of the universe, 6,000 years, is also very feasible.
Dr Faulkner advises: “It is only right to give credit for creation where it is due, even as the psalmist did in Psalm 8:3: “I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained.”
RACISM
Benjamin Farrington, in his 1971 book What Darwin Really Said, outlines the following:
“One of the most important yet least-known aspects of Darwin is his racism: Darwin regarded white Europeans as more ‘advanced’ than other human races. While Darwin presumed that man evolved from ape-like creatures, he surmised that some races developed more than others and that the latter still bore simian features. In his book The Descent of Man, which he published after The Origin of Species, he boldly commented on ‘the greater differences between men of distinct races’.
“In his book, Darwin held blacks and Australian Aborigines to be equal to gorillas and then inferred that these would be ‘done away with’ by the ‘civilised races’ in time.”
One of the well-documented goals of colonialism was to ‘civilise’ barbaric peoples on continents like Africa: Perfectly in keeping with evolutionary beliefs which position Caucasoid people above other races.
Darwin published The Descent of Man in 1974, stating the following: “At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilised races of man will almost certainly exterminate and replace the savage races throughout the world. At the same time the anthropomorphous apes… will no doubt be exterminated. The break between man and his nearest allies will then be wider, for it will intervene in a more civilised state, as we may hope, even than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as baboon, instead of as now between the Negro or Australian and the gorilla.”
Social Darwinism contends that existing human races are located at different rungs of the ‘evolutionary ladder,’ that the European races are the most ‘advanced’ of all, and that many other races still bear ‘simian’ or monkey-like features. It will interest you that this is the thinking that led Darwin to speak of ‘survival of the fittest.’
Darwin was the inspiration behind Margaret Sanger’s race purification campaign. Sanger (1879—1966) founded the Planned Parenthood of America which is presently a subject of vicious debate in the US.
On February 15 this year, the New York Times reported that House Republicans had decided to hold a congressional investigation into the Planned Parenthood organisation. This came a day after anti-abortion activists, Centre for Medical Progress, released a video of an unsuspecting official from the organisation explaining how it provides fetal tissue to researchers.
Reuters reported on August 12 that the US government had warned states moving to defund women’s health group Planned Parenthood that they may be in conflict with federal law.
Federal law requires state Medicaid programmes to cover family-planning services and supplies for anyone of child-bearing age. Ending the agreements with Planned Parenthood would limit beneficiaries’ access to care and services from qualified providers of their choice, according to the Health and Human Services Department.
Sanger pioneered her beliefs that parenthood should be applied for and licensed so that poorer classes produce fewer children. Genetically inferior children would be reduced by forcibly sterilising the poor with gifts of money and presents.
She defined the spirit of the birth control movement with her famous slogans: ‘More children from the fit, less from the unfit — that is the chief aim of birth control.’ Another was: ‘Birth control: To create a race of thorough breds.’ She also said: “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.”
These details are found in the 1986 book Margaret Sanger—Father of Modern Society by Elasah Drogin. Her beliefs and philosophy were captured in her 1922 document The Pivot of Civilisation.
The Margaret Sanger Research Bureau financed the development of the birth control pill. Speaking of this, she taught the beauty and purity of sex without ‘the risk of children’ and advocated the sterilisation of those unfit to have children. She said: “The marriage bed is the most degenerating influence in the social order.” She advocated instead a ‘voluntary association’ between sexual partners, changing the focus from family to personal sexual satisfaction.
In the 1920s, the Stanford-Binet intelligence quotient (IQ) test was administered to American soldiers according to ethnic groups. The IQ tests showed that Negroes and southern Europeans were mentally ‘very inferior’ to native-born white Americans. Sanger called such inferior people “feeble-minded” and a “menace to the race.”
With the belief that 70 per cent of Americans had an intellect less than that of a 15-year-old, Sanger produced her Plan for Peace.
It included a stern and rigid policy to sterilise and segregate tainted people with bad genes who may transmit undesired traits to their offspring. The country could avoid future burdens of maintaining offspring of feeble-minded persons isolating such persons on farmlands or concentrated camps to work there for life.
All these ideas were inspired by Charles Darwin’s theories.
In the same spirit, race purification has been embarked on by leaders who sought to cleanse their nations of evil or subhuman species: Adolf Hitler of Germany, Pol Pot of Cambodia, Benito Mussolini of Italy, Joseph Stalin of the Soviet Union and others who murdered millions of their own subjects.
What more evidence do we need to realise and recognise that evolution, as a subject taught in class, endorses and perpetuates the sub-conscious inferiority complex that blacks still have towards whites? The urgent need is to rearm the emergent young generations with a sense of value of self and of country, which will be the basis for love of self and of country. That cannot be done when black children are taught that they are lesser humans who are still evolving.
What more evidence do we need that evolution dehumanises blacks and all Third World persons? What more evidence does the Government need before uprooting and expelling the discredited evolution theory from the education curriculum in this Christian Nation?
Here is a valid case for introducing clearly Bible-based Religious Education in schools.
