TALKING shop has observed that most customers do not understand the use of discount cards by some chain stores.
Some customers who use discount cards from a named chain store have complained of not getting discounts whenever they use cards when purchasing products.
Talking shop is urging chain stores to explain to customers the use of the discount cards.

Talking Shop is concerned that staff at an outlet on Independence Way in Ndola only uses a caculator intsead of teller machine.
The worry arises considering that totalling up of products bought from a shop may not be accurate due to human error.
In any case, there has been enouragement by the Zambia Revenue Authority that all sales be made through teller machines for the insurance of receipts.

Talking Shop has noted that some shops have prolonged payment systems whereby if one is buying something from them, they need to set aside about two or three hours because of their long payment procedures.
Some of these shops have not less than three cashier points and for each point, a customer will have to join a queue and present different types of documents before finally collecting their purchases.
The curprits are shops that deal in equipment like generators and other farming implements, let them cut down the bureaucracy in the buying process to avoid unnecessary delaying of the customers.
