FORMER Tourism and Arts minister Sylvia Masebo is today expected to appear for questioning at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) offices in Lusaka.
Ms Masebo, who is also Chongwe Member of Parliament (MP), has been summoned by the Commission to answer to issues bordering on corruption.
She was scheduled to appear at the ACC head offices for questioning at 09:00 hours yesterday but was excused as she was attending to other matters.
“I am not appearing at ACC today, I have been excused but am appearing tomorrow, I think in the afternoon,” Ms Masebo said in an interview.
Meanwhile, ACC acting public relations manager Dorothy Mwanza declined to divulge details of Ms Masebo’s summoning to journalists who gathered at the Commissions offices awaiting her arrival.
Ms Mwanza said information related to the former minister’s case was highly confidential and could not be easily released to the public for fear of jeopardising investigations.
“I can confirm that Ms Masebo has been summoned to answer to issues bordering on corruption. I cannot say anything other than that as this is the official position,” she said.
