ABOUT 120 exhibitors have confirmed participation at this year’s ninth Southern Tourism, Agricultural and Commercial Show Society (STACSS).
The Show will be held in Livingstone from July 16 to 19, this year under the theme ‘Innovation beyond the Golden Jubilee’.
STACSS executive secretary Barnwell Mwila said 30 per cent of exhibitors from the targeted 400 had confirmed their participation at this year’s provincial premier event.
Mr Mwila said in an interview in Livingstone yesterday that most companies were already on site preparing their pavilions.
He said Agriculture and Livestock Minister Given Lubinda was expected to open the show on July 17, this year.
“In terms of ground preparations, we are almost 90 per cent ready as we have already done our usual demarcations. We have also graded the roads in the premises and it is more visible,” he said.
The organisers had also engaged Lion Encounter, a company that would bring elephants and a cheetah for the amusement of members of the public.
“This time around, tourism operators will come on board more than ever before and we are grateful to the Ministry of Tourism and Zambia Tourism Board (ZTB) for facilitating this process,” he said.
