THE Australian National University (ANU) Science Circus was yesterday expected in the country as part of the southern African tour.
Last year, ANU Science Circus visited Zambia and successfully conducted staff training and various science activities.
The team is expected to tour Zambia from June 15-22 2015.
Australian High Commissioner to Zambia, Suzanne McCourt said through funding from the embassy for Zambia and the High Commission in South Africa, Dr Graham Walker and Mr Joe Duggin were touring Zambia, Mauritius, South Africa, Botswana and Malawi.
They will be performing science shows, conducting staff training and showing teachers how ordinary items can be used to teach extraordinary science, to make science more accessible for young students and teachers.
The project is in collaboration between ANU, Questacon – Australia’s National Science and Technology Centre, and passionate partners in each African country who are crucial to fostering long-term outcomes.
In Zambia the partner is the STEM Education Centre, who will have their own staff trained further by Dr Walker and Mr Duggin, following last year’s training.
