Mr Chama and his team were on Saturday on their way to a campaign meeting to drum up support for PF candidate Patricia Mulasikwanda.
The team was ambushed by suspected UPND cadres in Sichili area and in the process of the confrontation, a gun was fired, which led to one person being shot.

The three are Siyauya, Gerald Imanda and Likamba Godfrey.
“The fourth person who was apprehended to help with investigations, Mushaukwa Mushaukwa, is still in hospital and has not been charged,” Mr Lungu said.
Mr Mushaukwa was the one that was shot and wounded in the fracas.
Police recovered two firearms and an assortment of other weapons from the scene of the incident.
