NATIONAL champion Jassy Singh and his young brother, Muna Singh Junior need US$100, 000 to compete in the remaining legs of the 2015 FIA-African Rally Championship (ARC).
Kenyan Jaspreet Chatthe is leading the driver’s standings with 50 points followed by Jassy on 36 points while Muna junior is third with 30 points and defending champion Gary Chaynes of Ivory Coast is on 25 points having competed in one race.
Next for the Zambian duo is the Rally of Tanzania that starts on June 12 in Dar-Es-Salaam then they will compete in the Rwanda, Uganda and Madagascar rallies.
Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) vice president Sam Ching’ambu said though the brothers had acquired some sponsorship, they still needed assistance to enable them finish the remaining legs of the ARC.
Ching’ambu said the association had so far written letters to the Government and cooperate world to assist with funding but had not received any response so far.
He said the two brothers still had five more rallies for them to complete the ARC and still needed more support.
Ching’ambu expressed confidence that Jassy and Muna Junior would perform well during the Rally of Tanzania to overtake Chatthe in the bid to retain the title to Zambia.
Meanwhile, Jassy and Muna Junior leave for Tanzania tomorrow and to enable them prepare well for the rally.
Muna said his vehicle was in good shape and was confident of performing well at the rally to pick up maximum points to overtake Chatthe at the top of the standings.
