GOVERNMENT will maintain strong operating systems in order to cement the confidence its partners have shown in the Ministry of Health.
Health Deputy Minister Chitalu Chilufya told journalists in Lusaka yesterday that the ministry has put up strong systems to ensure effective health delivery which has earned Government the confidence of its partners.
The Swedish government renewed its support to the Ministry of Health after seven years of an aid freeze after the ministry was embroiled in financial mismanagement.
“Sweden renewing its support is good for the country. The ministry has put up strong systems that have attracted this confidence and the systems will just get stronger,” Dr Chilufya said.
He said without those strong measures of effective monetary management, the Swedish government would not have renewed its funding.
The move by the Swedish government vindicated President Edgar Lungu’s good governance policies.
Dr Chilufya said Government would continue with the good track record to maintain the confidence exhibited by its partners.
Meanwhile, the commissioning of some of the health posts constructed under the 650 health posts countrywide construction project will start in about three months.
Dr Chilufya said some of the health posts would be ready for use in about two to three months.
He said out of the 650, more than 250 had sub-structures under construction while in some cases, building of super structures had commenced.
