THE Botswana Under-23 soccer squad has said playing at home counts for nothing in modern football and believes Zambia does not hold any advantage in tomorrow’s 2015 CAF Under-23 Championship qualifier.

But Zambia coach Fighton Simukonda said his charges would not take any chances but go for an outright victory tomorrow against Botswana.
Speaking yesterday after the morning workout in Lusaka, Botswana delegation leader, Thapelo Otimile said if anything, Zambia would be the team under pressure in this second round, second leg qualifying match at Nkoloma Stadium tomorrow.
Otimile predicted victory for the junior Zebras but admitted it would be a tough and tight game.
“There is nothing like having an advantage when playing at home these days. So Zambia will have no advantage this weekend. And on the pressure, it will be on Zambia who will have the crowd to please with Botswana having little to lose,” he said.
Simukonda’s team tomorrow takes on their Botswana in the return leg after the two sides drew 1-1 last weekend in Lobatse.
Botswana will be looking for either a win or a high scoring draw to see off Zambia.
Asked on the change of coaches a day before playing Zambia in the first leg, Otimile said the incident did not affect the players as the team has a philosophy of playing and it just continued.
Meanwhile, Simukonda said the team would not take any chances but ensure the outcome of the match was resolved in the first half.
“Our target is to beat Botswana in the first half because we do not want to take any chances, we are not aiming for a draw so we are preparing hard,” he said.
