Nkwazi in tough Muf 7s defence

NKWAZI face a tough battle to retain their Mufulira 7s Rugby title today at Mufulira Rugby Club.
The defending champions are in Group A at the 12-team event that will kick off at 10:00 hours this morning and have been drawn to play Prisons, Nchanga and Green Buffaloes.
Nkwazi will face Nchanga in the tournament’s opening game before playing Prisons and Buffaloes.
Winner from their pool will face runners-up and vice-versa from Group B that comprises of ‘Powerhouse’ Lusaka, Chibuluma, ‘Killer Bee’s’ Ndola Wanderers and Diggers B.
Former champions Arrows are in Group C where they have been drawn to play Green Eagles, Konkola and Kitwe Pplaying Fields (KPF) A.
The winner and runner-up from Group C will tackle second and first place finisher from Group D respectively.
Group D consists of Diggers A, Mufulira, KPF and Roan.
The Mufulira 7s will also mark ‘Men At Work’ Diggers first game back since the death of their long-serving coach Robertson ‘Plough’ Kangongwe exactly a week today after an illness.
Meanwhile, the winner will take home K7,000, K4,000 will go to the runners-up while the Plate champions will take home K2,000.
The player of the tournament will take home K5,000 and the most disciplined team will receive K1,500.
