Letters to the Editor -LogoI AM disappointed with Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company’s failure to provide water in Kanyama Township for 24 hours daily.
For instance, the past two months, we have been unable to access water during the day.
The water is restored between 01:00 to 03:00 hours with low pressure.
If one misses that opportunity, then they have to walk to neighbouring townships like Chibolya, John Laing, Makeni and Kamwala, where the commodity is available 24 hours.

Can we meet with Mr President

WE the visually impaired people would want to seek an audience with President Edgar Lungu so that we will share our plight with him.
This is because we are wondering if this country does care for the blind and the widow since in most cases our councillors are grabbing and selling our land without our consent.
Our intention of seeking to see the President is not to ask for money from him but secure our land

Explain who these gallant people are?

THE city fathers of Kabwe should be commended for naming some public institutions after gallant men and women who served this country in different capacities.
However, some people do not know who these people are and what they did.
I therefore suggest that these hero and heroines named after institutions should build a statue or put up a plaque with a brief history.
Some pupils and teachers from Stephen Luwisha, Angelina Tembo, Kasanda Malombe, Ben Kafupi, and David Lamush schools do not know who their schools were named after.
Nkruma University has a beautiful statue at the entrance of the university with a brief history about Kwame Nkruma on it.
Preserving our heritage by naming public places after people is important but we need to put things in writing so that generations to come know where we are coming from.

Thanx NATSAVE for Wanderer FCs support

I WANT to express my profound appreciation for NATSAVE bank’s gesture to support Mufulira Wanderers Football Club.
As an ardent supporter, I feel duty bound to bow before you for the support the bank is providing to the team both financially and materially.
The team languished for a long time in the lower division of the league.
Your sponsorship is indeed commendable.
Without the support of the bank, the team would have been nowhere today.
On behalf of our supporters, I say thank you to NATSAVE, for saving the team from extinction.
However, help us in providing the regalia for the supporters who will buy them at any cost
Open an account for the club at the bank so that supporters can deposit any amount they feel like to support the team.
Kindly provide at every game team ushers from the bank with raffle tickets and give way tickets to soccer fans at the stadium.
The draws for the raffles should be drawn at half time each time the team is playing.
The player of the match at all matches of the team playing should be honoured.
HUMPHREY NGULUBE
FORMER CHAIRMAN OF
MUFULIRA WANDERERS SUPPORTERS CLUB
