ZAMBIA Amateur Athletics Association (ZAAA) president, Elias Mpondela has confirmed that more than 40 companies have confirmed participation in this year’s Inter-Company Relay ICR).
Mpondela expressed happiness with the response so far, saying it was a sign that the 2015 event would be a huge success.
He said ZAAA was projecting to raise more than K1 million from the annual event.
Mpondela emphasised that this year’s ICR would be one way of promoting cancer awareness among Zambians and had since appealed to the corporate world and individuals from across the country to take part in this event.
“These companies that have confirmed participation will have to pay something so we will wait till then to know how much we have raised, but I can guarantee you that the event will be a huge success,” he said.
The ZAAA chief also said that the association had decided to involve political parties with their leaders to participate in this year’s event.
“Last year, we had MMD this time we have invited all political parties because we want everyone to participate,” Mpondela said.
