VICE-PRESIDENT Inonge Wina has arrived in Kasama for a four-day official visit of Northern Province.
The Zambia Air Force plane carrying Ms Wina arrived at Kasama Airport around 15:30 hours yesterday.
Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe, several senior Government officials and party cadres were on hand to meet the Vic- President.
Speaking on arrival, Ms Wina said the PF Government was committed to see that developmental programmes currently on-going in the province are sustained.
She said this was because the Government is keen to see that the lives of Zambians were improved for the better.
Ms Wina said President Edgar Lungu was also thankful to the people of Northern Province for their positive vote in the January Presidential elections.
She has called on all Zambians to continue working hard to develop the country.
The Vice-President is in Northern Province to inspect some developmental projects in the area.
She is today expected in Mporokoso District where she will check on the progress at Mwange Resettlement Scheme. Later in the day she will inspect the Kalungwishi Cattle Ranch.
Ms. Wina would tomorrow call on local chiefs in Mbala and Mpulungu districts before visiting more developmental projects in the two districts.
She is expected to wind up her visit of the province on Friday after paying a courtesy call on Paramount Chief Chitimukulu before addressing pupils at Kasama Girls High School-ZANIS
