A MAN in Nchelenge district has beaten his four-year -old son to death.
Kennedy Mwape, 28, of Chisambi Village who was allegedly in a drunken state when the incident happened at the weekend, assaulted the four-year-old for unknown reasons.
The boy sustained a swollen right thigh after his father’s attack and was rushed to Saint Paul’s hospital where he died.
Luapula Province deputy Police chief Webby Shula, who confirmed the incident in an interview yesterday said the suspect had been apprehended.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man of Nsemiwe Village in Nchelenge District has been murdered for allegedly stealing seven planks.
Fidelis Chomba was murdered on Saturday by people only identified as Sautu, Mwelwa and Bana Kenny.
Mr Shula said there were no physical injuries identified on the victim’s body which was lying in the mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Police have since launched a man hunt for the suspects
