AIRTEL Networks Zambia Plc has scooped four awards at the just held PMR Africa Awards.
Airtel managing director Peter Correia said he was proud of what the staff of Airtel had done in the last year which had now culminated into the awarding of four prestigious awards from PMR Africa.
According to a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday, PMR Africa is an independent survey and research company based in South Africa.
“Today’s awards will go a long way in reinforcing our will to invest even more in Zambia by making sure there is connectivity for all communities, especially in the rural areas,” Mr Correia said.
The awards Airtel received include outstanding- first overall of telecommunications companies in Zambia and outstanding first overall, companies and institutions held in high esteem as good corporate citizens based on their corporate responsibility initiatives and investments over the past 12 months.
The other two awards presented by PMR chief executive Johan Hattingh were Outstanding first overall, advertising campaigns and excellent, first overall for companies and institutions doing most for the elderly and senior citizens.
PMR has over the years conducted surveys on Zambia as a potential investment area for foreign and local investors.
The awards presented were after a survey conducted between May 2014 and March 2015 reviewing companies, institutions, government entities and individuals on their contribution to Zambia’s economic growth.
