POWER Dynamos chairperson Ben Simukoko has stepped down from his position.
Simukoko leaves his position after three years at the helm.
Copperbelt Energy Corporations managing director, Owen Silavwe said club treasurer Heggie Kalangwa and committee member Morton Mugemezulu have also left the club.
“Yes, there have been changes to the executive at Power Dynamos, there are a couple of changes but for Ben (Simukoko) he has other major responsibilities so we felt he should not have divided attention,” Silavwe said.
Simukoko’s successor has yet to be appointed.
Meanwhile, relegation-fearing side, Green Buffaloes have sidelined its chairperson, Simon Silungwe and replaced him with a fellow Colonel Andrew Siame.
According to a short statement released yesterday by Zambia Army spokesperson Chris Musonda, the Army Command had assigned Silungwe other duties and was no longer chairperson.
“Zambia Army Command has appointed Colonel Andrew Siame chairman of Green Buffaloes Football Club, taking over from Colonel Simon Silungwe, who has been assigned other duties,” read the three-paragraph statement.
Buffaloes have had a poor season this year which has seen them win only once this year and lying in 10th position with eight points from seven matches with flashes of last season’s near relegation coming back.
