THE American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia (AmCham Zambia) and the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Chamber of Commerce have signed a partnership agreement to help the two organisations capitalise on professional and regional expertise in trade and investment.
The SSA Chamber of Commerce is a trade and investment promotion organisation whose mission is to enhance mutual partnership, trade and investment between the United States of America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Other objectives attached to the agreement were the expansion of respective networks, increasing each organisation’s reach without establishing new organisations and infrastructure, creating a platform for sharing knowledge, best practices and means of building capacity.?The partnership hopes to create synergy that influences an enabling environment for increased US-Africa trade.
AmCham Zambia president Jason Kazilimani Jr said this in a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday.
“In order for the chamber to succeed with its goal of promoting trade and investment with the USA, key partnerships have to be established and the chamber is very pleased to have this partnership agreement with SSA Chamber of Commerce.
We definitely look forward to successful collaborations that will be a result of this partnership,” he said.
The core areas of the partnerships agreement would be co-marketing and programming, organizational capacity building and joint grant funding.
He said these would help aid the two organisations to collaborate and partner on various initiatives of mutual interest facing the United States and Africa.
