TOP muscleman Sylvester Mwila is eyeing to win the International Federation of Body Building (IFBB) 2015 Africa Boksburg Classic Championship slated for August 6 in South Africa.
The three-time Mr Zambia champion said in an interview that this time around he was going for the title having gained experience from the Mr. Olympia Amateur Africa tournament last year.
“I no longer have competition in Zambian and this is why I am aiming at winning the Africa Boksburg Classic in South Africa,” he said.
Mwila, who is also current Mr Ironman, said he was confident of retaining his title when the competition is held on June 6 at Taj Pamodzi as that will earn him a slot at the Boksburg Classic.
The Zambia Body Building and Fitness Federation (ZBBF) will use the Mr Ironman contest to pick participants to represent the country at Boksburg and R and S Classic championships in Johannesburg.
Mwila last year competed in the Mr. Olympia Amateur Africa championship in South Africa and finished in fifth position.
Meanwhile, reigning Mr Independence champion Honest Muyupi has said qualifying for the Africa Boksburg Classic will be milestone in his career.
The muscleman, who could not step on the stage at the 2014 Mr Olympia Africa in Johannesburg owing to late arrival, said he would make amends this time by clinching the Boksburg Classic spot.
However, to qualify for the Boksberg Classic, Muyupi will have to finish in the top two at the forthcoming Mr Ironman contest.
Muyupi, who has been shaping up under the auspices of Ndola’s Fit Link Gymnasium, has vowed to beat any other challengers to the Ironman title to storm the continental stage.
“My eyes are set at winning the Mr Ironman contest because my ultimate target is to qualify for the Boksburg Classic. I have been training so hard and I think no one will stand in my way at Pamozi Hotel,” Muyupi said.
