NETBALL Association of Zambia (NAZ) has reappointed Charles Zulu as head coach for the national team preparing for the 2015 World Cup finals in Australia.
Zulu who was in charge from 2012 to June last year, takes over the mantle from Pauline Nsombo who has been coach since last July.
NAZ general secretary, Pritchard Ngoma said the change on the technical bench was due to indiscipline within the team.
Ngoma said in an interview that at the moment there were many disciplinary cases in the team compared to previous years and this forced the executive to shuffle the coaching bench.
“The executive feels that we need to move to a new stage, we have had disciplinary cases which wasn’t the case before and we need to bring discipline in the team,” he said.
“The executive felt that if we bring in a new person, they could bring stability in the team.”
Meanwhile, three women have been summoned to the national team, bringing the number to the required 20 needed to represent the country at the World Cup.
The players are Linda Sikana from Pink Panthers and the Napsa duo of Joyce Mwanza and Mwale Kalonde.
The International Netball Federation last Friday gave NAZ a two-week ultimatum to submit a full list of 20 netball players for the World Cup.
