NAPSA Stars secretary Owen Chipinde says the club decided to send headcoach Hector Chilombo on an indefinite suspension because it feared for the worst.
This follows reports by some executive members who expressed disappointment by the move to send Chilombo and his assistants Evans Sakala and Samuel Banda on suspension before the three-match ultimatum expired.
Struggling Napsa have only managed one win in the opening six matches to be in 15th position on the log and Saturday’s 4-0 bashing at Zanaco prompted the executive to send the trio on leave and replaced them with Geoffrey Hamakwanda and Harry Milanzi.
Chipinde agreed that the executive gave Chilombo an ultimatum but that was no longer an issue because the club already made a decision to suspend him.
However, the members, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said it was unfair to sideline Chilombo when he had not finished his three match ultimatum and that he needed time to prove himself.
