ABOUT 280 mobile science laboratories worth K1million have been handed over to 140 Government schools on the Copperbelt.
Provincial Permanent Secretary Howard Sikwela said during the handover of the equipment donated by Copperbelt Development Fund (CDFL), that the computers would contribute significantly to the delivery of education services in schools.
Rev Sikwela said the mobile science laboratories would help pupils gain an insight and experience that could be shared with others in the community.
He said the gesture should be commended in that it is complementing Government’s efforts in ensuring quality education.
Rev Sikwela said the equipment would also reduce stress on teachers who are teaching without the practical aids.
“With these laboratory facilities and available qualified teachers, schools will continue to produce students of high calibre, we commend CDFL for the gesture and we hope that the equipment will be put to good use” he said.
CDFL board chairperson Tomson Kamwendo said the organisation would continue to respond positively to the education needs to benefit the citizens.
Mr Kamwendo said it was the mandate of the organisation to uplift the education standards of many people.
“We strongly believe that with this contribution, teachers will gladly offload valuable knowledge and prepare the minds of pupils to become great leaders,” he said.
