NKANA captain Donashano Malama and midfielder Claude Bwalya are in a fitness race for Sunday’s Kitwe derby against Power Dynamos.
Bwalya watched Tuesday morning training from the stands at Nkana Stadium while Malama was restricted to a light workout.

Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi said in an interview yesterday that he was optimistic the duo will be fit for the derby to be played at Nkana Stadium.
“Malama has a knock but I hope by the end of the week the medics will give us the full story on him but it is not a serious injury,” Chambeshi said.
Malama sustained a thigh injury in last Saturday’s scoreless away draw against Green Eagles in Choma.
Chambeshi added that Bwalya has been out of action since Nkana’s scoreless draw against Zesco United in Kitwe on April 19.
“Claude is just from the hospital and I hope this afternoon (Tuesday) he may start light training and as we go into the week he might join us,” Chambeshi said.
Meanwhile, Chambeshi said Nkana will miss the services of suspended goalkeeper Scott Ngokene.
Ngokene will not make his Kitwe derby debut since joining Nkana from Napsa Stars this season due to suspension following his 68th minute red-card against Eagles.
“The guy has been fantastic and we will miss him for this game but for sure we have two goalkeepers who can seal that that position; we have Charles Mweemba and Rabson Muchelenganaga,” he said.
Nkana head into the Kitwe derby unbeaten against Power since October, 2012 and the 12-time champions have won two and drawn as many derbies  against their rival since then.
