THE year 2013 has been a traumatising one especially for me as far as road traffic accidents are concerned.
We lost our dear brothers and sisters in the Chibombo and Luangwa accidents.
The two examples are just a tip of the iceberg of what really transpired on our roads this year.
Each time I go to sleep I pray against all forms of traffic accidents on our roads because I always break down whenever I remember the lives of those who have so far perished in the road carnages.
Those gallant and industrious men and women were contributing to the economic and social development of mother Zambia and losing them just like that was very shocking and traumatising.
One important fact is that those accidents would have been avoided in one way or the other, but only God knows why certain calamities occur at any particular time.
As we march into 2014, it is my sincere prayer that the country will record a sharp decline in road traffic accidents. We must say no to road traffic accidents. We must say yes to an accident free 2014.
