GRIZZLY Mining has pledged commitment to helping Afrisports rebound after improved results in the just ended 2014 FAZ Division 3 season.
Afrisports,who had a brief spell in the FAZ Super League in 2005, finished second to Lubambe in Division 3 North on 56 and 57 points respectively.
Grizzly Mining finance and administrative manager Abdoul Ba said at a jersey presentation to Afrisports on Tuesday in Kitwe that their K500,000 sponsorship deal with the club was bearing fruit.
“Since we took over the club two years ago as Grizzly Mining management, we are very happy to see the successful stabilization of the team as opposed to when when took over when the team was on the verge of relegation to the amateur league,” Ba said.
Grizzly Mining donated new kit for the 2015 season including training equipment.
And Grizzly Mining corporate affairs manager Barbara Shilengwe said they were looking forward to a long term relationship with Afrisports.
“You are our baby and we are not doing this for the first time and we want you to rise to the challenge and continue impressing us,” Shilengwe said.
Meanwhile, Afrisports chief executive officer Gabriel Kaunda said his club was humbled to have received the new kit and that it was a morale booster to the players.
“We have also received goalkeeper gloves goal nets, corner flags footballs boots that is 30 for training and 20 match game boots,” Kaunda said.
Afrisports has produced Chipolopolo player’s namely Rainford Kalaba, Jacob Mulenga, Stopilla Sunzu, Christopher Munthali and Aaron Katebe.
